That “Wan King Path” sign is very recognisably a Hong Kong roadsign. It turns out it’s a small street in Sai Kung, a seaside town north of the main city here…
“Wan” is a pretty common character - in fact, I live in a district called Sheung Wan - and it’s one of the few I know by sound. It means “bay”. I had to look up the second character, which means approximately “scenery” or “view”.
In other words, the name of the street translates as “Bay View Path”. Sorry, not as funny. And certainly not as funny as my dad’s girlfriend when he was a young man - Ms. Jenny King, who never ever went by her full name, Jennifer.
